Police Need More Than A Hunch To Stop A Motorist

The first line of defense in any criminal case is the law. If an officer stops or searches you without legal justification, the evidence seized cannot be used against you. The Connecticut Supreme Court today made clear than officers patrolling the streets need have more than a hunch that something is amiss before stopping a person. It is a ruling worth celebrating, and applying should you or a loved one be stopped by police officers.
